(1) From Narita Int. Airport to Tsukuba Bus Center:


Take an airport bus called “Airport Liner NATTS” to Tsukuba Bus Center.  Ticket (2540 yen) is available at the KEISEI BUS TICKET COUNTER in the arrival lobby.  Bus leaves from the bus stop #8 in front of the airport terminal 1/1st floor or  the bus stop #10 at the terminal No.2.  It takes ~100 min to the Tsukuba Bus Center. Please be careful that the Tsukuba is not the last stop of the bus. Bus leaves on 7:20, 9:05, 10:35, 12:50, 14:30, 16:15, 17:20, 18:45, 20:10.  If you arrive later than these bus schedule, contact ATHIC office for possible arrangement,  or take a taxi, which costs you ~18,000 yen from Narita Airport to Tsukuba!

(2) From JR Tokyo station to Tsukuba Bus Center


  1. a)Take JR Yamanote line to JR Akihabara station. On the ground level where  the ticket gates are, find a sign of “TX”, “Tsukuba Express”.  From the underground TX Akihabara station, take Rapid, Semi-Rapid or Local train to Tsukuba.  It takes 45 min. by Rapid, 52 min by Semi-Rapid and 57 min. by Local train.  The Tsukuba station is the last stop of the line.

  2. b)Take a highway bus to Tsukuba Bus center.  At the south end of YAESU-tieckt gate of JR station, there is bus terminal.  You can buy a ticket at the vending machine just inside of the building at the bus terminal.  Depending on the traffic, it takes 60 min - 90 min to the Tsukuba bus center.
